To use the tables or figures of JNIC in other journals, books, or media for scholarly, educational purposes, the process of permission request to the publisher of JNIC is not necessary. In case the journal faces suspected cases of research and publication misconduct, such as redundant (duplicate) publication, plagiarism, fraudulent or fabricated data, changes in authorship, an undisclosed conflict of interest, ethical problems with a submitted manuscript, a reviewer who has appropriated an author’s idea or data, complaints against editors, and so on, the resolution process will follow the flowchart provided by COPE (https://publicationethics.org/resources/flowcharts). The discussion and decision on the suspected cases are carried out by the Editorial Board.
Peer-Review Process
JNIC has on online submission and peer review system at https://submit.e-jnic.org/. The basic policy is as follows.
All papers, including those invited by the Editor, are subject to peer review. Manuscripts will be peer-reviewed by two accredited experts in the shoulder and elbow with one additional review by prominent member from our editorial board. The editor is responsible for the final decision whether the manuscript is accepted or rejected.
Submission by Editors
All manuscripts from editors, employees, or members of the editorial board are processed in the same way as other unsolicited manuscripts. During the review process, submitters will not engage in the selection of reviewers or the decision process. Editors will not handle their manuscripts even if the manuscripts are commissioned.

Conflicts of Interest: OOO has been an editorial board member of Journal of Neurointensive Care since OOO but has no role in the decision to publish this article. No other potential conflicts of interest relevant to this article were reported.
This is an open access journal. A free full-text service, both in XML and PDF formats, is available immediately upon publication without an embargo period.
This journal is owned by the publisher, the Korean Neurointensive Care Society (https://www.neurointensivecare.or.kr). The corresponding author should agree to the copyright transfer during the submission process. The Editorial Board takes it granted that the co-authors also accept the copyright transfer per the acceptance by the corresponding author, who has a responsibility of submitting the copyright transfer agreement to the publisher.

There are no author fees required for manuscript processing and/or publishing materials in the journal since all cost is supported by the publisher, the Korean Neurointensive Care Society until there is a policy change. Therefore, it is the so-called diamond open access journal.
There is no author's submission fee or other publication related fee since every cost for the publication process is supported by the publisher (Korean Neurointensive Care Society) and Korea Government’s support.
JNIC does not accept any commercial product advertisements until policy changes otherwise.
Journal propagation has been done through the journal website and distribution of an introduction pamphlet. Invitations to submit a manuscript are usually targeted towards presenters at conferences, seminars, or workshops related to the journal's aims and scope.
In addition, we declare that these principles acknowledge the responsibility of publishers and editors in promoting accessibility, diversity, equity, and inclusivity in all aspects of publication. Editorial decisions are based solely on scholarly merit, and should not be influenced by the authors' nationality, ethnicity, political beliefs, race, or religion. JNIC is committed to ensuring that its policies do not create an exclusionary environment and will regularly evaluate them for inclusiveness.
